Journo, small punter, always looking for value, put a bit of effort in to big race form.
Only slight concern punting SYT, apart from the rain and possible bias against swooping, might be Bart's history of running his cup chances quiet in the McKinnon, not worrying about the win, just getting the 2000m in his stayers' legs. It's hard to bet against him though.
I get the feeling it's not a favourite's derby with all the rain on the way. Anyone else like Perfect Pecs at odds? Won at his second start like a derby horse, and stuck on in derby trial for second at odds when entitled to knock up and run last. Wet track, on pacer ... could give a sight at the odds.
Greetings all. Just came across this website while looking for form on ONCE WERE WILD, then having signed up, the first comment I read was the above! Also loved the Geelong run, but worried about the rain. Flemington is already a shifting track, add 50mm of rain and you can toss the Caulfield form out the window -- even further than normal. ONCE WERE WILD has only one wet track run -- won five from six on Good ground %u2013 so even though an on-pacer, which helps, I'm worried about the likely heavy rating (surely at best slow) on cup day. Took 250s last week on Sportsbet, which was shortlived, but now worried about the likely track conditions.
