lol lol 'a bet is a bet'.......good 1 groupie.
a players suspension is directly related to the "impact" of the incident so comparing Halls 1 punch, which knocked the player out cold, with Baker's 2,3,4 "punches" that fair dinkum would not have hurt a school kid is like comparing apples with oranges. With relation to the punching of a players ...
thank ya mother for the rabbits !! 12 live doubles all into Hay List....sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
I'll throw up Shocking again, was dominant last year after travelling 3 - 4 wide the trip. Will obviously get more weight however a sweeter run in transit will offset that and you know he's a certain starter. The others at this stage for me include Faint Perfume, Shoot Out, Jessicabeel, Dariana. ...
Prince Braeman, Drenalin and Maxisun....the winner is amongst that trio and leaning to Drenalin but have taken all 3 in exotics
so close but yet so far............Mic Mac needed to get out about 100m earlier but was held up before switching off heels. He was strong on the line and reckon it may have cost him the race as Black Piranha's run had ended close to the line but his momentum allowed him to have his nose in front when it mattered most. Massive exacta went begging as well. 6/1 the place a small consolation...
take a look at Whobegotyou's Caulfield Guineas win.....effortless. Whobe's winning strike rate is not top class yet but he has been super unlucky in quite a few good races. Have a look at last year's Doncaster for example. Clearly should have won. His racing style certainly contributes to some of his luck' but he has plenty of good wins in him in the future. SYT fans are basing their opinion off the back of 1 race and are knocking Whobe....who were the 'stars' SYT beat in the Cox Plate when getting 8 - 10kg's off the field ? SYT has still got it all in front of him but he is a POTENTIAL star. I hope he comes back and goes on with it. I think we all saw Whobe's slashing 1st up run on unsuitable wet ground and he will be much better suited at Eagle Farm. ....Love to see him race overseas after having a light Spring (say 1st up Toorak Hcp 2nd up Cox Plate 3rd up Emirates then spell) The pace is almost always on OS and the straights are long (Dubai Duty Free in March would be right up his ally)
Levi's Choice will be the horse to follow out of the race. Think he's a nice horse in the making. Might be a guineas/derby horse in the spring
Larry's Never Late is certainly a leading contender here if he can get on the track at some stage. He prefers it wet as does another leading contender in Hissing Sid. He's drawn to get the gun run 1 off the fence midfield, he drops 1kg from dominant Warrnambool Cup win, will be rock hard fit and this is no harder. You would imagine a hectic tempo here with Sir Slick, Scouting Wide (must go forward from 21) and possibly Albertinelli (also drawn out) will be to his liking. Hissing Sid (can't miss e/w) from Larry's Never Late (needs to get all the breaks) if wettish and throw in Crossthestart if track is dryish. Anybody got a weather forecast ?
The champion (after she kicks their brains in) mare to lead them a merry dance
have had a nibble e/w at the big odds on Friday Creek. 1100m is perfect and he was good 1st up and 2nd up track conditions were not to his liking. Suspect he's been going well for the past 12 months and he's over the odds. With good speed likely here just think he's gonna be in the perfect spot 1 or 2 pairs back and he should have a good sprint with no weight and back on top of the ground. Ortensia and Swift Alliance are going in everything as well
Have snapped up the $3.50 available after taking $4.20 last week......I'm betting this week to get a bank to just smash her again. She's a superstar who will show her knockers how stupid they were in backing something to beat her (even though I have saved on Rangi and Palacio)
plenty of depth in this race I feel......been waiting for Jerezana but it draws the outside gate. It will get back so maybe its not too much of a disadvantage. Europa Point is the other I like. Has form around Majestic Music, Marquardt, Response and Faint Perfume. She's been freshened and she just flies fresh
For the record I think the legends are Carbine, Wakeful, Phar Lap, Bernborough, the underrated Tobin Bronze, Tulloch, Rising Fast, Kingston Town, Manikato, Sunline, Makybe Diva
I'm with you Nudge......Gold Water is a classy horse on her day. She's against the males however she has only 1kg over the minimum and she's drawn to get a cosy lead. She's ready now 3rd up.
agree with ya chilli re Extra Zero....massive overs imo. Also agree with toptipster, Monaco Consul doesn't appear to have come up this prep and also regarding Zabrasive and Rock Classic being the horses to beat. I'll be working around Rock Classic, Zabrasive and Extra Zero.
Mic Mac is top class and will be winning this.....confident of that
I am having the exact same bet tt......just got a once in a lifetime feeling about it and I should be sipping Pina Colada's in the Bahamas next week.......surround - Manikato also ran in the Australian Cup over 2000m and was BEATEN simply because he didn't get a strong 2000m !! a well known trainer once said to me " they all get the distance, some just get it quicker than others. It's a simple case of genetics ". For the record the horses I mentioned above were champions in my book with Manikato and Vain all time greats.
Molanski - I think Littorio would go well at 3200m if the sting is out of the ground. He's had alot of hoof/leg problems but he's a genuine stayer
agree with your sentiments Horsemiller.....I've already had a dabble @ $21 on Palacio De Cristal. She needs it dry and if she gets conditions to suit she's in it up to her eyeballs. Will meet Danleigh much better at the weights and she will also appreciate a solid tempo up front, which she should get. What a race it would be if Typhoon Tracy runs. I think she would be a moral in it, even with the 56.5kg's....
if she goes on she looks like she COULD make a nice 1600m - 2000m horse no doubt....you don't see too many, or any, More Than Ready's that make good stayers. Maybe the damside could see her get further ??
Light Fantastic would have spanked them yesterday if he drew a barrier where he would have dictated. Just simply did too much work in the run. He loomed like the winner before tiring.
I did look at both sides and nothing suggests she won't get through rain affected going...Flying Spur as the broodmare sire is 4th on the table of wet track wins for the season (11% winners to runners overall all track conditions Vs 13% winners to runners on slow or heavy !!!!) and General Nediym was a knob in the wet (6 starts on dead slow heavy for 3 wins 2 places....incl. easy G1 wins the ONLY times he raced on slow and heavy)
Shoot Out is no doubt bred to stay Runny however I still feel he was a shade disappointing on Saturday and I am looking to others in the Derby. Jury is out on Rock Classic staying the 2400m also however I really like him as a horse though. He's bred to be a sprinter/miler but he may just have superior ability over his rivals...a la Mahogany, who streeted his rivals in 2 Derbys and then went on and won 2 Lightning Stakes over 1000m and countless other quality races
172/1 Double landed with Count The Diamonds on Fri night.....not bad for a lazy $20....makes it easier to cop the $100 loss on the Headway Dbl...horrible race to watch though
Theseo is a tough horse and the yardstick at middle distance wfa......and a nice price was put up to be had by all......get home you good thing !! Smashed the Hot Danish/Theseo double.......money for jam
I'm warming to Shamardashing myself seve.....certainly open to more improvement than most of these
PS gonna have a little nibble at Gold Water at the odds just in case she crosses with ease and controls the race
Until Hot Danish begins failing 1st up there is no possible way anybody can leave her out. I think 1300m is perfect for her...Demerit, with natural improvement, is her biggest danger and Turffontein the other who would not shock however on good track Hot Danish and Demerit pick themselves
imo Flemington is BY FAR the fairest track in Australia. Master Harry won the 1st after racing on the fence (in 57.55 sec running .6 faster than the open class sprinters before the track upgrade !!!). Response raced 1 off the fence and won. Vigor raced on or 1 off fence and just got bloused. Be Positive and Red Flair raced on the inside and quinella'd their race. The open class sprint Mrs Waters raced up the inside rail and was beaten 3/4l. Zipping after being 3 wide on the circle was able to kick back and win racing inside Sirmione the last 200m. Georgia's Boy raced on the inside and was beaten a nose. Seemed pretty fair to me. You will always get some horses who race 3 wide and still win but love to see the stats....there wouldn't be many ! Shocking was just so well weighted in the Cup and Zipping was just a superior horse compared to his rivals at wfa over 2000m
underrated horse imo Moonshine.....has been very good to me as I have been on him in almost all of his 13 wins. He's usually been kept quiet in the autumn as Lloyd Williams tends to do that with all his good stayers to keep them fresh and injury free for the spring. That said he has some leg prob...
PS I'd rather back Typhoon Tracy everyday of the week against More Joyous.....
some trainers are better that others in this regard.......Moody and Price are worth listening to and Gai, well, some of her comments are comical. Kavanagh and Hayes you can sort of guage their confidence in their voice. Geez I'm starting to sound like a psycholigist !! I'm happy with Wanted winning as I have purchased a share in a Fastnet Rock colt so Wanted's Group 1 win can only add to the value of him. He's with G Eurell so fingers crossed he can get him going to win a race or 3
as much as I respect Military Rose I am certainly not leaving Shaaheq out of calculations
