Warrington Wolves sent their players to prison as part of their preparations for Sunday's game against Salford City Reds.

The first-team squad departed from their regular training regime and were instead put through their paces alongside prisoners at Thorn Cross jail in Warrington, where they were also given talks by in-mates and prison officers.

Wolves football manager Karl Fitzpatrick said the experience took the players out of their comfort zone.

"The visit was very productive in many ways," he said. "It enabled our players to witness how important it is to be good role models and how easily things can turn bad if they make poor decisions."
