Wighton out with toe injury

Canberra Raiders rookie Jack Wighton has undergone surgery on ligaments in his toe and will now await the surgeons diagnosis to determine how long he will be on the sideline.

Canberra Raiders rookie Jack Wighton has undergone surgery on ligaments in his toe and will now await the surgeons diagnosis to determine how long he will be on the sideline.

Wighton will use the weekend to recover and allow the surgery to settle and will meet with the surgeon early next week.

Contarary to other media reports the period of Wighton's recovery has not yet been determined, however it is possible he could miss the remaider of the season.

A club official said, "At this time the club wish Jack all the best and await the outcome of the surgeons report next week before we can confirm any further."
