SIX REASONS WHY Sydney Roosters WILL WIN THE NRL GRAND FINAL:

1. The best defence the game has ever seen. Their six shutouts this season is an NRL record, while they have also held a team scoreless in a half on 19 occasions.

2. Psychological edge. In the three games this year between the two teams, the Roosters have won on every occasion, Manly failing to score in the first half of any game.

3. Depth. With Boyd Cordner and Luke O'Donnell possible starters, the Roosters boast amazing depth, especially up front against a thin Manly rotation.

4. Freshness. After an epic first game against the Sea Eagles in the opening week of the finals, the Roosters have enjoyed a relatively easy path to the decider.

5. Desire. The Roosters boast seven players who have played in a grand final but never tasted premiership success. They will be keen to finally get their hands on that ring.

6. Sonny Bill Williams. Arguably the most dominant footballer on the planet, who will be primed for a big one in what shapes as his final game in the NRL before a likely return to rugby union.

SIX REASONS WHY MANLY WILL WIN THE NRL GRAND FINAL:

1. Form. Their last 60 minutes against South Sydney was brilliant, and if they can stretch that over the entire 80, the Roosters won't get a sniff.

2. Experience. With 26 grand final appearances and a host of premierships littered throughout their squad, the Sea Eagles know all about what it takes to win on the biggest stage.

3. Kieran Foran and Daly Cherry-Evans. The best halves partnership in the game has flourished under the guidance of halves coach Andrew Johns, with Cherry-Evans the best in the business at coming up with crucial 40-20s.

4. Tricks up their sleeve. While the Sea Eagles haven't beaten the Roosters this year, there were mitigating circumstances on two occasions, when Kieran Foran and then Brett Stewart were spectators. They will both be on deck on Sunday.

5. Momentum. There seems no stopping the Sea Eagles, who have twice looked dead and buried during the finals only to emerge with wins.

6. The best backline in the NRL. Strength, skill and speed throughout, with the right edge of Jamie Lyon and David Williams likely to see plenty of ball against the Roosters' suspect combination of Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Daniel Tupou.
