CANBERRA, April 13 AAP - Canberra co-captain and Australian representative David Shillington suffered a reported rib injury as the Warriors led 10-4 at halftime in their NRL clash at Canberra Stadium.

Shillington went straight off the field and up the tunnel for the night with reported rib damage in the seventh minute.

It was a big blow for Shillington, who said the possibility of playing in next week's Trans-Tasman Test in front of the Canberra faithful would be a career highlight for him.

The long-awaited return of Terry Campese came in the 30th minute.

And while the NSW State of Origin and international representative's return off the bench was subdued, he was likely to play a bigger role in the second half with several Raiders battling injuries.

The Raiders didn't mope about Shillington's departure, with Sandor Earl placing down a Sam Williams cross-field kick centimetres inside the field of play to open the scoring two minutes later.

But the Warriors hit back immediately, Manu Vatuvei comfortably scoring twice down the left wing to give his side their six-point lead.

A second Maroons player, the Warriors' Dane Nielsen, also left the field for the night with a rib injury.

Raiders centre Jack Wighton was put on report for the hit on Nielsen for making contact with the head.
