SYDNEY, May 14 AAP - Jared Waerea-Hargreaves' poor record at the NRL judiciary is set to count against him, with the Sydney Roosters enforcer facing up to seven weeks on the sidelines after being charged with a reckless high tackle.

Waerea-Hargreaves became the first player sent off this season when his tackle caught Manly prop George Rose across the face in Monday night's clash at Brookvale Oval.

The match review panel backed up the on-field officials by imposing a reckless tackle charge rather than a less serious careless charge.

The high tackle was deemed a grade one offence by the match review panel, but with three similar offences in the past two years adding considerable loading, Waerea-Hargreaves is in line for a lengthy stint on the sidelines.

The New Zealand front rower will cop a five-week ban if he takes the early guilty plea but, if he fights the charge at the judiciary on Wednesday night and loses, he's looking at a hefty seven-match suspension.

Fellow Rooster Jake Friend was also charged with a careless high tackle out of Monday night's game, but can escape a ban with an early plea.

South Sydney winger Andrew Everingham faces up to three weeks on the NRL sidelines for a shoulder charge on North Queensland fullback Matt Bowen.

Brisbane forward Josh McGuire and Parramatta's Darcy Lussick were both charged with striking following a 48th-minute brawl at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.

But McGuire, who was sin-binned for punching Mitchell Allgood, could be free to play Friday night's derby against Gold Coast if he takes an early guilty plea.

Lussick, who has 60 carryover points, can plead guilty and miss one game or contest the charge and be out for two matches if unsuccessful.

The other player charged was Penrith's Mose Masoe, who can play this weekend with an early guilty plea to a a grade-one charge of attacking the head or neck of Melbourne forward Jason Ryles during the Panthers' upset 12-10 win on Sunday.
