Former Sharks front rower Jon Mannah has passed away after a brave battle with cancer, aged 23.

Mannah, who joined the Sharks in 2009, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma later that year before missing the 2010 season while undergoing treatment for his illness. He then fought back to again play for the Sharks in the NRL in 2011 before returning to Parramatta in 2012, the club he represented as a junior.

In all Mannah played 24 NRL games for the Sharks, while away from the field he was respected by all and will be fondly remember by club officials, fellow players and fans for his friendly and easy going nature and for his dedication to community causes and initiatives.

Current Sharks coach Shane Flanagan coached Mannah at the club and many of the 2013 Sharks NRL group played alongside him during his time at Cronulla, with all deeply saddened by the news.

The Sharks offer their deepest condolences to the Mannah family and to his many family and friends.
