Roosters are pleased to announce that young up-and-comer Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has made a long-term commitment to the Tricolours in signing an extension to remain with the club until the end of the 2016 season.

19 year-old Tuivasa-Sheck expressed his delight at extending his contract with the club.

"I'm really enjoying being a part of the Roosters. The club has treated me so well ever since I got here. I'm learning so much and I wanted to stay a Rooster and build a career here.

"I still have lots of room to improve and I just want to continue to learn in the coming years, keep getting better and hopefully secure my opportunity to play some good football for the club."

Roosters Chief Operating Officer Football, Brian Canavan, was also delighted to have Tuivasa-Sheck locked in to the Club's long-term plans.

"Roger is an exciting young talent and has been a wonderful asset to the club both on and off the field. Blessed with amazing footwork, evasion and ability to break the line Roger has the ability to thrill crowds while being a dependable contributor week in week out.

"He has shown some true leadership qualities for someone so young and has applied himself diligently across all aspects of professional football. We certainly look to him as a leader both on and off the field in the years to come."

Tuivasa-Sheck played six NRL games in 2012 after being a standout in the NYC competition in the opening months of the competition. He completed a successful first season in rugby league by being named in the Toyota Cup Team of the Year and was awarded the Roosters inaugural Arthur Beetson Medal as the club's NYC Player of the Year.
