Titans coach John Cartwright was not getting carried away by the win but, with State of Origin stars Greg Bird and Ashley Harrison both due back from injury next week, was clearly feeling good.

"To keep sides like that, who throw as much as they do at you, is a big effort," he said.

Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin said his players didn't back up their strong effort that steered them home against the Warriors a week ago.

"We were very poor. I don't think we had the effort to win tonight. We were waiting for the other team to hand us a win.

"I'm not taking anything away from the Titans - they were too good for us tonight."

Cartwright praised Bailey's effort: "He a freak. He gets better with age. You wind him up and he goes until he drops."

Both sides suffered casualties with Brisbane centre Justin Hodges likely to miss two or three weeks with a hamstring injury and Corey Parker, who played his 250th NRL game, suffering a low-grade medial strain.

Titans forward Nate Myles (sternum) was the most serious for the home side but winger Michael Gordon and forward Luke Douglas were limping after the game.
