Asked about the importance of snapping his side's losing run, Tigers coach Tim Sheens said:

"Hell yeah, just for their confidence.

"The two points are very valuable considering what's happening in the competition at the moment."

As for the Walsh try, Sheens claimed video referee Bernard Sutton got it wrong - but admitted there were still too many grey areas with the obstruction rule.

"It's one of those things that's going to be difficult to get right on every occasion," Sheens said.

"But I felt on that occasion the lead runner went a long way to knock him (Moltzen) out of the way ... to say he couldn't get to the little halfback is a tall order."

For Panthers coach Ivan Cleary, it was an all too familiar tale.

"We put enough effort in and did enough good things to secure two points," Cleary said.

"But I suppose that's where we are at the moment, it's probably why we're sitting on the table where we are - there's been too many games like that."
