Manly and Brisbane will do battle in the 1st semi final to be played at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night.

Kick off is at 7.45pm (AEST).

The winner of the clash will advance to the Grand Final with their opponents being the winner of the Melbourne v NZ Warriors clash to be played on Saturday night.

Manly will head into the match as near unbackable favourites with Brisbane's preparations disrupted the injury sustained by the great Darren Lockyer last weekend.

Lockyer is intent on playing in the clash despite having three plates inserted into a cheekbone injury. Earlier this year soon to be former Manly official Peter Peters attacked Lockyer in a local Manly newspaper article questioning his true greatness in the game. One thing that is for certain is that Lockyer's greatness isn't in question and he will gain Immortal status in the years to come regardless of the final stages of his remarkable career.

The Sea Eagles will be without Glenn Stewart as he has one more match to serve after receiving a three-match ban following his involvement in the ugly incident against Melbourne in round 25.
