Warrington referee Phil Bentham, one of six full-time Stobart Super League officials, is expected to be out of action for eight weeks with a fractured tibia.

Bentham sustained the injury after colliding accidentally with Hull KR fullback Shannon McDonnell during Friday's game at Wigan Warriors, where play was held up for 10 minutes before the referee was taken off on a stretcher.

"On behalf of the RFL, I would like to thank the staff and officials of Wigan and Hull KR," said RFL match officials director Stuart Cummings. "They could not have done more to assist Phil on Friday night."
