After announcing a one year contract extension overnight, evergreen Catalan Dragons' star Steven Menzies will be out to keep his Super League title dreams alive when the Dragons face Leeds Rhinos in the first of two knockout preliminary finals LIVE on Eurosport this weekend.

The Dragons were rolled 46-6 in their qualifying final against minor premiers Wigan Warriors on Friday and now face a do-or-die home final to keep their season alive.

Coach Trent Robinson, who is returning to Australia to coach the Sydney Roosters in 2013, admitted his team were overawed by the big game occasion.

"Wigan taught us another lesson in a semi-final," Robinson said.

"You build yourselves up for these games. We fought hard to finish in the four and get into these semi-finals. We're a better team but we didn't show it.

"It was pretty disappointing. Right from the first whistle, we struggled to defend their plays.

"I thought we took a lot of short-cuts which is disappointing and we just didn't work hard enough for the position on the ground."

Menzies, who is the oldest player in the Super League at 38-years of age, is one of a number of Australians in the Catalan outfit alongside halfback Scott Dureau, fullback Clint Greenshields and centre Daryl Millard.

They now face a Leeds outfit eager to make it back to back Grand Final wins. The reigning champions have endured an up and down year but are starting to hit some form at the right end of the season.

Their line-up features Australian back rower, ex-Parramatta Eel and Gold Coast player Brett Delaney, and England internationals Kevin Sinfield and Jamie Peacock.

Eurosport's LIVE coverage of Catalan versus Leeds starts at 4.45am on Saturday 22/9 with replays screened at 1pm and 6.15pm later that day.

In the other final Warrington Wolves faces Hull FC LIVE at 3.45am on Sunday 23/9.

Warrington boasts a plethora of Australians in their line up including captain Brett Hodgson, second-rower Trent Waterhouse and brothers Joel and Michael Monaghan.

They face a Hull team featuring ex-Bulldogs prop Mark O'Meley and five-eighth Brett Seymour. Highlights of that game can be seen at 2.15pm.

Coverage of the 2012 Super League Grand Final will be broadcasted LIVE, IN FULL and ADVERTISEMENT FREE on Eurosport Australia from 4am on Sunday 7/10.
