Storm fans will have an opportunity to watch fur fly live as Melbourne Storm's battle against the Panthers this Sunday is broadcast live on free to air television for the first time this year.

Storm fans will be able to tune in from 3pm on Channel Nine as their top of the ladder team fight for their fifth win for the season.

Storm's Chief Commercial Officer, Claire Murphy, says the club is delighted that members and fans are able to watch rugby league live on Channel Nine in Melbourne.

"The news that Storm's game against Penrith will be broadcast live in Melbourne this Sunday afternoon on Channel Nine is most welcome, " said Murphy.

"We commend Nine for this decision, which we believe holds great benefit for Melbourne's sporting landscape and Victorian Rugby League more broadly."

Importantly, while this decision presents Melbourne Storm supporters with the chance to watch their team live, it also gives Melbournians who have not experienced Storm's exhilarating style of footy the opportunity to tune into a league clash for the first time.

Murphy added that the best way for Storm fans to continue to see games live on free to air television in Melbourne is by tuning in on Sunday.

"We are calling on Melbourne to vote with their remotes and make Storm matches a regular fixture on Channel Nine programming."
