fullback Brett Stewart will miss Saturday's round 19 clash against Newcastle at Hunter Stadium.

Stewart suffered a minor hamstring strain during Manly's 40-24 victory against Parramatta yesterday afternoon at Brookvale.

The week off will allow Stewart to be 100% fit for the round 20 grudge match against Canterbury at Brookvale Oval to be played on Friday 20th July.

Stewart was Man of the Match in the Sea Eagles round 8 victory against the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, Glenn Stewart is also likely to miss this weekend's clash in an effort to give him every chance to be fit for Des Hasler's return to Brookvale.
