SYDNEY, Sept 29 AAP - Both NRL grand finalists breathed a sigh of relief on Sunday with star Manly back-rower Glenn Stewart and explosive Sydney Roosters centre Michael Jennings cleared to play in next weekend's decider.

Both were charged over incidents in their team's preliminary finals victories, but neither offence is serious enough to force a suspension.

Stewart endured a nervous wait from Friday's 30-20 win over South Sydney, where he hit Rabbitohs enforcer Sam Burgess high in the fourth minute.

But he escaped with a grade one careless high tackle charge.

Jennings was charged with tripping Newcastle's Akuila Uate in Saturday's heavy win over the Knights, but his grade one offence will also not impact on his maiden grand final appearance.

Tireless Sea Eagles hooker Matt Ballin said Stewart's inclusion was an enormous boost for Geoff Toovey's men.

A two-time premiership winner, Stewart brings plenty of big game experience to the Manly pack - with Ballin saying the 29-year-old is someone who leads the way on the field.

"It's great news for us and for the people who turn up to watch the grand final," Ballin told Channel Nine's Sunday Footy Show.

"He's got that great experience. He calls some plays and people follow him. That's what you need in these big games."
