LONDON, Feb 21 PA/AAP - St Helens scored five second-half tries as they came from behind to see off Hull 34-22 and maintain their winning start to the Super League season.

The hosts trailed 10-6 at the break at Langtree Park, but tries from former Sydney Roosters hitman Sia Soliola, Jonny Lomax and James Roby - his second of the night - put Australian coach Nathan Brown's side in command on Friday.

Gareth Ellis threatened a comeback by adding to the first-half touchdowns of Mickey Paea and Richard Whiting, but Tommy Makinson and Mark Percival made the game safe before a Danny Houghton consolation.

Saints' influential new halfback Luke Walsh had another fine night with the former Penrith playmaker landing five goals.

In Friday's other match, England winger Tom Briscoe grabbed a sparkling solo try on his home debut to help Leeds compound Warrington's miserable start to the season with an 18-12 victory that was more comfortable than the score suggests.

The teams were locked at 6-6 four minutes before halftime when the former Hull flier, who scored a hat-trick in his first appearance for the Rhinos at Hull KR last Sunday, popped up in midfield and charged through the heart of the Wolves' defence for a glorious 70-metre try.

With fullback Zak Hardaker scoring Leeds' other tries and centre Kallum Watkins excelling in his 100th appearance, Leeds provided more ample evidence that they have the best outside backs in Super League.
