TELIKOM Kumuls coach Adrian Lam will name a starting line-up capable of running rings around the English team in the sweltering Dairy Farmers Stadium heat in Townsville on Saturday.

Lam told The National from Townsville last night that he was giving a lot of thought to the team and was confident they would surprise the English
He believed that pace at dummy half and out wide in the weather conditions in Australia's far north could work to the Kumuls' advantage.

Though England have undergone heat orientation before the World Cup, Townsville's temperature is predicted to hit a minimum of 30 degrees, and the Kumuls are using the elements as leverage to fly over the Englishmen.

"I haven't named a team as yet," Lam said last night. "This is an important match for us and I will pencil the side according to our game plan.

"Obviously, there are certain areas we think we can play to our advantage and I will pick the best possible players who can seize those opportunities on Saturday," he said.

Lam said he was confident the boys could pull it off in the World Cup opener.

England captain Jamie Peacock has played down the hype that they will struggle with the heat, saying PNG had a relatively unknown quality side that could hurt them.

The same sentiment was echoed by former Sydney Roosters star Adrian Morley, who said PNG could be the surprise package that could jeopardize England's WC campaign.

"I've been to Townsville six times. The weather is very unwelcoming and it tests your endurance.

"PNG are an unknown side and the boys (England) have to be weary of the conditions," Morley said.
