SYDNEY, June 28 AAP - South Sydney have re-signed young gun Dylan Walker for another three NRL seasons after just five first-grade appearances.

The 18-year-old centre has shown impressive form since his debut against the Wests Tigers in round 10, scoring four tries in five matches.

The deal will keep the South Sydney junior at the Rabbitohs until the end of the 2016 season.

Coach Michael Maguire said Walker was a proven hard-worker and very professional for such a young player.

"Dylan is a very exciting, young prospect and we're pleased to have secured his services for at least the next three years," Maguire said in a statement on Friday.

"He can play in a number of positions and at the moment he is doing very well in the centres for us."

Walker, who grew up in South Sydney, said he'd always dreamt about playing first-grade for the Rabbitohs and was excited about his future at the club.

"I'm really happy to have my contract sorted for the next few years and I can concentrate on playing my best football and maintaining a spot in the 17," Walker said.

"I'm living that dream this year and hopefully I can go on to play more first grade and represent this club on many more occasions."
