Starring performances by returning Origin representatives Greg Inglis and Dave Taylor has seen South Sydney score a 24-6 victory over an error ridden Parramatta.

Despite suffering an elbow injury in the first half, Inglis went on to set up 2 tries in the win, with Souths turning a 12-0 half time lead into a 24-6 victory.

The Eels started strong, making plenty of metres from the kick-off and putting the Rabbitohs under pressure, but came up empty.

On the back of a good kicking game the Rabbitohs worked their way down to the Eels end, and converted at their first attempt in the 16th minute when Nathan Merritt was on the end of an Adam Reynolds kick to score in the corner.

Despite looking like suffering an elbow injury, Greg Inglis stayed on the field and set up a try in the 30th minute for Justin Hunt, pushing away from 3 tackles and offloading to the winger to establish a 12-0 lead.

The Eels mounted some pressure right before the break, but couldn't take advantage, making an error as the siren sounded in the background.

The Rabbitohs struck straight after the break through Dylan Farrell, as he showed some good footwork off an Inglis pass to extend the Rabbitohs lead in the 42nd minute.

After a mistake riddled middle period, a chip and chase by Chris Sandow that earned a repeat set opened the game for the Eels. On the back of the drop-out, the Eels spread the ball to the right and Reni Maitua got on the outside of Adam Reynolds to cross in the corner, and narrow the gap to 18-6 in the 57th minute.

The Rabbitohs looked to have secured the points in the 65th minute when Luke Burgess crossed after the Eels let a bomb bounce, and Andrew Everingham collected it and offloaded inside to Burgess, only for the video referee to rule Dave Taylor interfered with a catcher.

Sandow took an intercept in the 68th minute to bring the Eels back into the game, running 90m before Adam Reynolds pulled off a good covering tackle after chasing him down.

The Rabbitohs secured the result in the 75th minute when Michael Crocker dived over from first receiver, finishing with a 24-6 victory.
