Huddersfield are pleased to announce that new signing Jamie Simpson has arrived at the club and is ready to commence his career with the claret and gold.

The 24-year-old agreed to join the Giants from the South Sydney Rabbitohs last month, but a hold up in the necessary visa paperwork meant he couldn't fly to the UK until the application had been processed.

Simpson had been busy training with his former side in a bit to ensure he was a sharp as possible when arriving at the Galpharm Stadium and admitted he can't wait to get started.

"I'm very, very excited to be here, it's been a long trip for me but it's all good and I'm delighted to be here.

"The temperature has been a bit of a shock - it was 40 degrees when I left Sydney I think and since I've landed it's been a hell of a lot colder but I'm just so happy to finally be here now!"

After a gruelling long haul flight, Simpson arrived at the Galpharm Stadium to meet staff and sample the UK for the first time;

"My first impressions of England are great; when we flew over Manchester I was looking out for Old Trafford because Man United are my team. My first impression of Huddersfield as a place is good and there's no doubt that he Galpharm is going to be an awesome stadium to play at.

"It's a good sized stadium and would even be one of the better ones in Australia, I'm sure there will be a great atmosphere in here throughout the season and I can't wait to sample it."

Following a long-distance flight, Simpson is prepared to play the waiting game as he looks to integrate into the Giants squad;

"I think Browny is going to ease me in gently, there was a chance I might have had have a run at training today but I'm a bit too jet lagged, I've only had about three or four hours sleep!

"On Friday I'm hopefully going to have a little bit of a run and hopefully next week get into the full swing of things with the boys.

"I've met a few of my new teammates today and I can see that they are all champion blokes, I've had a catch up with (Ex South's team mate) Dave Fa'alogo to see what he's been getting up too as well which was good."
