Roosters coach Trent Robinson said he was happy to see his team claim a win after three narrow losses.

"We have had some really close games that we didn't finish so the important thing tonight was for us to close it out," he said.

"I was really happy for the guys to get back into the winner's circle.

"We played some really good footy tonight. We played some footy that we weren't happy with but winning was vital for us tonight.

"There was some better footy in that for us.

"It was good to get the win."

Sharp said it was a better performance from his men.

"It was much improved, but we are in the business of winning footy games.

"It was a much better performance and the effort was there."

Gallen said it was an honourable loss for the bottom-placed Sharks.

"It was a good effort but sometimes effort isn't enough - we have to win games.

"We have to get better in our execution and the finish to our sets.

"Their kicking game was nine out of 10 - that was the difference."
