SYDNEY, Sept 29 AAP - Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson says he will have no hesitation rushing Boyd Cordner back into his side for the NRL grand final despite the back-rower not having played for seven weeks.

Cordner, recovering from a broken ankle, just failed to get on the park for Saturday night's 40-14 preliminary final win over Newcastle, which propelled the Roosters into next Sunday's grand final against Manly at ANZ Stadium.

The NSW Origin representative is now eyeing a spot in the decider, Robinson admitting lack of recent match fitness would not be a factor.

"Not Boyd Cordner, no," Robinson said.

"Not with his attitude and the way he plays the game."

The ankle break Cordner suffered normally carries a ten-week rehabilitation period, but such has been the speed of his recovery that the workaholic back-rower was some chance of lining up against the Knights.

Asked about how close Cordner came to playing, Robinson said: "Wednesday night he trained a full session, but was a bit short.

"He trained a bit (on Friday) but not good enough.

"It wasn't an option there, especially when we've got (Mitch) Aubusson and (Aidan) Guerra."

Robinson could be forced to make two changes to his side to face the Sea Eagles, with Luke O'Donnell also in line to return from a hamstring injury suffered in the lead-up to the Knights encounter.

Isaac Liu and Dylan Napa shape as the most likely casualties.

Robinson admitted to being in awe at Manly's amazing come from behind win over South Sydney in Friday night's first preliminary final, when they piled on 30 straight points after trailing 14-0.

"Gee they're great to watch," Robinson said.

"They've been doing it for so long, I've been impressed by them for many years."
