CANBERRA, Aug 24 AAP - Canterbury's 12-match winning streak is poised to end unless they can bridge a 24-6 halftime deficit in their NRL clash with Canberra on Friday.

The ladder leaders, who've not lost since May, were all but overrun in the opening half by the Raiders, who are desperately trying to clinch a finals spot.

Winger Sandor Earl claimed two tries for Canberra, both off kicks to the right corner, while Reece Robinson and Mark Nicholls also scored for the home side.

It took until deep into the half for the Bulldogs to even go close to their attacking line, although success came quickly.

Kris Keating was the beneficiary of some Ben Barba brilliance, after the fullback busted open the Raiders' line with his signature flash moves.

Later, Earl was unlucky not to claim his third try - and again on the right - in the 37th minute when he laid a hand on another grubber kick.

But as the video referee ruled, it was right on the touchline.
