Residents coach Paul Green thinks he has the side to again get the job done against NSW next Wednesday night.

While selectors used last year's team as a starting point - form and injuries played their part in naming the new-look line-up for the State of Origin Game Three curtain raiser.

"I'm very happy with it," Green told QRL TV. "We've tried to stick with the guys who got the job done last year, but also, form was a big thing with considering who to pick."

Green conceded that while they would "miss some experience" with the omission of 2011 skipper and halfback Brad Davis (hamstring injury); there was there was still good mix in the team and "great balance in the side".

"Unfortunately for Brad, he's been out, probably got an injury at the wrong time of the year - we would have loved to have had him there," Green said. "His experience will be sorely missed."

However, the Wynnum Manly Seagulls coach said there was a lot of talent spread throughout the side, and singled out the backrow as being one of the team's weapons.

Wynnum Manly skipper Luke Dalziel Don has this morning been called in at lock for Joel Riethmuller who has been named to play for the North Queensland Cowboys on Sunday, and therefore will not have enough time to recover between matches.

"I am really happy with our backrow - I think it is a feature of our team we've picked."

The team will enter camp on Friday on the Sunshine Coast and will also get the opportunity to train alongside the Queensland State of Origin side.

"A really good thing for us is I've spoken to Mal (Meninga) and he's happy for us to train at the same training venue as the Origin guys," Green said.

"I think that will be a great experience for our blokes, just watching those guys and seeing the level that they train at - it's only going to add to the whole experience for us blokes."
