Queensland will hold its first training session in Melbourne this afternoon, a week out from the first State of Origin game at Etihad Stadium.

Centre JUSTIN HODGES is unlikely to do any hard running as he continues his recovery from a foot injury, which kept him out Brisbane's narrow loss to Manly last weekend.

The players and coach MAL MENINGA arrived in Melbourne yesterday and attended a special dinner at the MCG last night.

They were presented with personalised State of Origin training jerseys carrying the names of the 172 players who have represented Queensland since 1980 on the front.
