THE XXXX Queensland Residents put on a dominant display to record a 32-6 win over the NSW Cup representative side last night.

Despite the number of big name players in the NSW line-up, it was some of the lesser known names in the Queensland team who caused the damage in a performance that reflected the strength of the Intrust Super Cup.

Redcliffe winger Liam Georgetown played out of his skin, producing an around-the-back flick pass which resulted in a try while Tweed Heads centre James Wood also impressed in his first match on the big representative stage.

Ipswich Jets flyer Luke Capewell was named players' player following his striking two-try performance, which included the opening four pointer of the match.

Capewell was set up by a beautiful ball from five-eighth Grant Rovelli in the eighth minute, while a NSW error moments later saw Queensland skipper Brad Davis stroll through the line for the second try of the night.

Queensland dominated the proceedings throughout the half, and went into the break with a deserved 16-0 lead.

With the crowd steadily building, the Queensland side received a big cheer when they came out for the second half.

However, it was NSW who struck first, with late inclusion Jake Mullaney showing great speed to run from inside his own half and score in the left hand corner.

Former Northern Pride player Tom Humble - who showed flashes of how dangerous he could be - added the extras for the Blues, but that would be the last time they got on the board.

The next try to Queensland came thanks to a decisive break from Georgetown, who put the perfect pass onto the chest of the flying Capewell in support. The lead was extended when a Rovelli kick was collected by Ryan Simpkins.

Joel Riethmuller's try in the final moments of the game capped off an unforgettable night for the Kevin Carmichael-coached Queensland team.

QUEENSLAND RESIDENTS 32 (Luke Capewell 2, Brad Davis, Joel Riethmuller, Ryan Simpkins, Kayne Lawton tries; Liam Georgetown 4 goals) def NSW 6 (Jake Mullaney try; Tom Humble goal)

Half-time: Qld 16-0

Players' Player: Luke Capewell
