While the Seagulls had won their past two matches, they had been closer than expected.
However, at home against the Mackay side, the Seagulls were relentless in demolishing the top five contenders.
The Cutters though were the best team early and pushed hard for the opening points to no avail as the Seagulls were able to absorb the pressure to hold them out before getting their first real opportunity to score.
It came just before the 20-minute mark when a Jacob Fauid pass found Mitchell Dodds who stepped his way through and then eventually barged over to score Wynnum's first try.
After that, the points didn't stop coming for the Seagulls, with tries to skipper Luke Dalziel Don and a first half double to winger Nathanael Barnes giving the home side a 22-0 halftime lead.
The Cutters needed to be the first team to score after the break if they were to breathe new life into the contest - however, the Seagulls continued to shut them out of the game.
Peter Gubb added to their woes by scoring the first try of the second half, as did Dalziel Don when he crossed for his second and Troyden Watene's dart over from dummy half for the easiest of tries saw the score bloat out to 34-0 and there was no coming back for the visitors.
After a few disallowed chances - the Cutters were finally able to get on the board when Moses Pangai charged onto a short ball and reached out to score.
That was to be their only joy in a difficult afternoon that saw them lose their top five position on the ladder.
Wynnum ran in two more tries to cap off a dominant display and will next travel to Piggabeen to take on Tweed Heads in what should be a blockbuster match, while the Cutters will host Redcliffe in an important game.
