Wests Tigers might be all-but assured of a place in the finals but a loss to Parramatta or co-strugglers Gold Coast or Cronulla in the final three weeks of the regular season could put a serious dent in their premiership prospects.

The Tigers need to win all three games to improve their chances of survival should they go down in week one of the finals series. A seventh or eighth-placed finish would probably pit them against Melbourne or Manly in an opening qualifying final and a loss to either would result in elimination.

The Tigers can achieve 34 competition points which could elevate them to the top four and a qualifying final at the Sydney Football Stadium but they still have three games to negotiate before then.

And as Manly showed last weekend, if you fail to offer respect to your opposition, you can pay a heavy price. In the end, the Sea Eagles managed to dig themselves out of a hole against Parramatta but the Tigers may not be so lucky if they follow the same path.

The Eels have an extremely good record against the Tigers - winning 10 of their last 13 games - and will be determined to end a long run of outs in this year's campaign.

Stick with a Wests Tigers try as First Scoring Play and a Tigers victory by 1-12 points.

Players to consider for First Tryscorer are Beau Ryan, Blake Ayshford or Tim Moltzen for Wests Tigers or Luke Burt, Ben Smith or Justin Horo for Parramatta.
