If last Sunday's 40-24 defeat of Penrith is any indication, the Rabbitohs may be warming to the task.

The switch of Greg Inglis to fullback was a runaway success and the attacking attitude rubbed off on second-rower Dave Taylor and five-eighth John Sutton, who both made weighty contributions to the team's first win of the season.

Coach Michael Maguire will be counting on his men to back up that effort with another strong performance against the Broncos but it will require 80 minutes of commitment to beat Brisbane, rather than the fits-and-starts display they produced at the foot of the mountains.

Brisbane may lack some experience but there is no doubt that the professional approach instilled by former coach Wayne Bennett and carried on by Anthony Griffin, continues to influence the Queensland outfit. While most opposition teams take time to adjust to new combinations, new coaches and new patterns of play, the Broncos maintain a conservative approach early in the season and success invariably follows.

The Rabbitohs got the better of Brisbane in Perth last year in a match played in torrential rain.

Take a Souths try as First Scoring Play but look to a Rabbitohs/Broncos or Broncos/Rabbitohs outcome in the Half/Full Double.

Players to consider for First Tryscorer include Matt King, Dylan Farrell or Dave Taylor for the Rabbitohs or Jharal Yow Yeh, Gerard Beale or Josh Hoffman for Brisbane.
