are pleased to announce the signing of second-rower Shane Shackleton for the remainder of the 2012 season.

Shackleton will join the Panthers immediately after being granted an early release from his contract with the Parramatta Eels.

Penrith Panthers General Manager Rugby League Phil Moss said "Shane is a quality player with a great deal of experience. He will be a welcome addition to the Panthers line-up for the rest of the year."

Meanwhile, the Panthers would like to wish winger Sandor Earl all the best for the future, after granting him an early release on his contract, allowing him to join the Canberra Raiders.

Earl said, "I am grateful to everyone at the Panthers for giving me a kick-start to my career. I'd like to thank all my team mates for supporting me in this decision, and I hope that Panthers fans understand I'm doing this for all the right reasons. I wish everyone at the Penrith Panthers well."

Moss said, "Sandor has been a valuable member of our club over the past two years, and he will be missed by everyone at the club, and the Panthers community. We hope his future with the Raiders is a happy one."

Earl has been granted an immediate release, allowing him to join the Raiders for the remainder of the season.

Joining him in departing the club is hooker Nafe Seluini, he finished up with the Panthers this week and is off to the Sydney Roosters, effective immediately.
