State of Origin icons Chris 'Choppy' Close and Tommy Raudonikis today butted heads again when they came together to promote the Titans annual Coach's and Captain's Luncheon at Jupiters Hotel & Casino.

The former Queensland and New South Wales greats, who played in the historic first Origin match in 1980, today provided their opinions on all things rugby league in a small sample of what is to come for the 4th Annual Coach's and Captains Luncheon.

Close and Raudonikis will be among the special guests attending the annual Coach's and Captain's Luncheon on Wednesday, September 5 at Jupiters Hotel & Casino during the opening week of the NRL finals series.

They will be joined by Titans Coach John Cartwright, captain Scott Prince, former Bronco Ben Ikin, ventriloquist Darren Carr and MC for the day comedian Fred Lang.

"I'm looking forward to it, every time I've had an association with Tommy in the public arena it's always ended up very very funny,'' said Close at today's media launch of the event.

"I mostly laugh as hard as anyone else in the audience which makes it very tough for me to make any comments while he's talking.

"The Coach's and Captain's luncheon has really developed for the Titans over the last couple of years and it's one of those days that the players look forward to getting there. For all the people associated with the club, it's an opportunity for them to see what's happening leading into the finals.''

Raudonikis said he was looking forward to reuniting with his old foe 'Close' on stage.

"It's going to be a tremendous day. We go back to the first State of Origin of course and he's a very funny man too but he is a little bit coarse and uses a bit of bad language so be warned,'' joked Raudonikis.

"He knocked me out in the first State of Origin but I did finish the game, I didn't go off like the players do these days.''

The lunch will give fans a chance to mingle with some of Rugby League's biggest stars as they give an insight into what will be an exciting finals series while enjoying a sumptuous 3 course meal.

Kicking off at 12 noon for a 12:30pm start in the Pavilion Ballroom of Jupiters Hotel & Casino, the event will be an entertaining afternoon for all.

Tickets to the business attire Luncheon are $110 per person or $990 for a table of 10 and include lunch and beverages.

Tickets can be booked through www.trybooking.com/BPWR or email events@titans.com.au
