St Paul's College have confirmed they will defend their title at the NZ Secondary School Rugby League National Tournament to be held at Bruce Pulman Park, Papakura from 22 - 26 August this year. St Pauls will be looking to take their eighth title in a row, and their fifteenth since 1994.

This year fifteen schools will join St Pauls to compete for the winner's trophy. They are Wainuiomata High School and Taita College from the Wellington Zone; St Johns College, Tokoroa and Fraser High Schools (Upper Central); Mt Albert Grammar, Kelston Boys High School and Mt Roskill Grammar (Auckland); Aorere, Southern Cross, Tangaroa and Otahuhu Colleges, Manurewa and Papakura High Schools (Counties Manukau); and Aranui High School (Southern Zone).

There will be three days of pool matches, a day of semi finals, finishing with finals on the Friday.

The players will also have a number of development opportunities. These include selected players completing a Leadership Programme and visiting local Primary schools, and position specific coaching sessions run by a number of Kiwis including Stacey Jones, Logan Swann, Monty Betham, Jerome Ropati, Jerry Seuseu and Richie Barnett.

They will also have the chance to attend a Warriors training session, see the Warriors facilities and meet their staff, and visit the Rugby League Museum (Home of the RLWC and Four Nations Trophy).

Jim Doyle, NZRL CEO said "We believe it is important for the player's development to offer them a number of positive off field activities. We're grateful to the Warriors for their part in making this possible by allowing us to take some of the players to Mt Smart."

The tournament draw is available on the NZRL website www.nzrl.co.nz/national-secondary-schools. This year the tournament will be filmed by Sky TV who will feature a highlights package at the end of the tournament.
