Storm's NYC Cup team defeated Gold Coast Titans 27-26, with a Matt McGahan field goal in the final minutes of the match.

The match was a see-sawing affair, with both teams struggling in the soggy conditions, with over 15 errors for each side and neither being able to complete more than 65% of their sets.

Gold Coast was the first to score through a Tom Guymer try in the 22nd minute. Taliauli from the Titans extended their lead in the 34th minute, before Richie Kennar put Storm on the board for the first time with a try in the 37th minute. McGahan converted to cut Gold Coast's lead back to four points with the half-time score reading 10-6.

The second half was a much more free-flowing style of play as the lead changed six times with seven tries scored.

Denny Solomona used his speed to score a thrilling try in the 72nd minute. The Titans weren't done yet though as Matt Bedow leveled the scores at 26 a piece with four minutes to go.

Storm used their next set to cover some valuable ground and get within 30m of the posts. A composed Matt McGahan demanded the ball as his left foot field goal secured the win in the 78th minute.
