The Sydney Roosters have established a spot in the NYC top eight after a fantastic 40-12 victory over the Parramatta Eels on Saturday afternoon.

The young Roosters put on an attacking masterclass to run in seven tries against the Eels, dominating the game from the opening whistle.

Blustery conditions at Parramatta Stadium set the scene for an interesting encounter on Saturday afternoon, with both the Roosters and the Eels coming out firing in the early minutes.

Both sides certainly had their chances in the first 15 minutes, securing repeat sets on the opposition line. The Eels came within inches of scoring on two occasions, however, it was the Roosters who struck first with a well constructed try to Shaquille Blair just to the the left of the uprights. Chris Taripo made no mistake with the conversion taking the score to 6-0 after 20 minutes of end to end action.

The Eels then kicked into gear and looked certain to score after some strong hit-ups on the line. However, when a ball out the back went to ground, Reece Martin toed the ball through and connected with Nene McDonald for a length of the field Roosters try.

Minutes later Blair was in for his second, showing remarkable strength and athleticism to stretch out and score a powerful try to extend the Roosters lead. Taripo converted both tries to maintain his perfect record with the boot taking the score to 18-0 as the second half came to a close.

The second stanza started just as frantically as the first with the Roosters busting through in their first set. The Eels defended that raid extremely well and then launched an attack themselves, with James Tuitahi opening the Eels account for the afternoon after some brilliant ad-lib passing from the backline. Mitchell Brasington added the extras taking the score to 18-6.

With momentum in favour of the Parramatta men, the Roosters shook of their jittery start to the second half with some nice play through the forwards. The size of the Tricolours front men began to come through, and when Inoke Vunipola struck back for the Roosters with a bustling run the margin was back out to 18 with just under half an hour to play.

Some smart footwork from Dallas Wells and a great leap from McDonald to score his second extended the lead to 36-6 as the Roosters continued to have the best of the territory and possession. Eels halfback Zac Clay then produced a superb individual effort to get over the line to take the Parramatta total to 12 as they launched a final attack on the Roosters with some extra possession.

A final try from Kane Evans in the 80th minute saw the Roosters have the last laugh taking the final score to 40-12, topping off a very entertaining match.
