SYDNEY, May 28 AAP - The last time Josh Morris played alongside Blake Ferguson the Canberra outside back scored two tries and won man of the match for the Country Origin side in 2012.

Next Wednesday the pair will form the right flank for NSW against Queensland at ANZ Stadium as new coach Laurie Daley tries to find a way of finally cracking the Maroons' seven-year dominance of State of Origin.

Canterbury centre Morris will play on the opposite side of the field to where he lines up for the Bulldogs and said he was looking forward to playing with Ferguson, who'll make his Origin debut.

"He's a very good player," Morris told AAP.

"He's quick, strong and has freakish ability. The last time he played outside of me he scored twice and we formed a real good understanding."

Ferguson's been in great form for the Raiders and Morris said he had no doubts the pair could re-form a strong partnership against the Maroons.

"It does help that we've played together, no doubt," he said.

"Queensland's success has been formed on the back of long-standing understanding between the players because they have played so many times together.

"On-field understanding is really important, especially in Origin."

Morris is also delighted to get another opportunity to play with twin brother Brett, who recovered from his knee injury and proved his fitness for St George Illawarra against Penrith on Saturday.

"I thought he got stronger as the game went on and I know he is happy for the run," he said.

"He's missed a few Origins in the past through injury but it's great for all of us that he's made it this time."
