Further encouraging developments for Rugby League in America with news of yet more new teams being formed, plus confirmation of the first test match for 2012.

WeAreRugby can report that expansion clubs are being established in Las Vegas and Denver.

The Vegas franchise (Las Vegas Warriors) is to be headed up by former USA Eagle rugby international Vaha Esikia, who is head of the Las Vegas Rugby Academy.

The Denver club (Colorado Blizzard) is being spearheaded by Shawn Kelley, a former long-time rugby man.

Details to follow on the two new teams that have been earmarked to compete in the AMNRL's Western Conference along with the Utah Avalanche.

Meantime, it has been confirmed that the USA will host Ireland in the Donnybrook Cup test match on March 17.

The game, to be played in Philadelphia, will mark the St Patrick's Day weekend.

The Irish Wolfhounds snapped their losing streak against the Tomahawks in the corresponding match last year with a 26-8 victory. The US holds an overall 4-3 record against Ireland.
