Hull FC have announced that fullback Wade McKinnon has left the club for personal reasons, just six months into a three-year contract.
The 31-year-old, who joined the Stobart Super League club from Wests Tigers in the winter, sought a release after failing to settle in East Yorkshire and will to return home to be with his family.
Hull director of rugby Shaun McRae said: "Wade has left the club to return to Australia and we thank him for his contribution to the team over the last six months.
"We wish him well upon his return home and in his future career."
The departure of McKinnon, who played in 10 of Hull's opening 11 Super League matches, leaves the Black and Whites without a specialist full-back for Saturday's home game against champions Leeds Rhinos.
Stand-off Richard Horne deputised during McKinnon's absence against Bradford Bulls in March while youngster Reece Lyne played full-back in the recent Challenge Cup defeat by Huddersfield Giants.
In a statement, McKinnon said: "I have really enjoyed playing with the team during my time in Hull and have made some really good friends here.
"I would like to wish them and the club the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
"I would like to thank everyone for their support at Hull FC during my time at the club, as well as Peter Gentle and Shaun McRae for their understanding of the situation and allowing me to return home."
