Manly join Canterbury as premiership favourites

Canterbury's premiership credentials were questioned yesterday, but they survived with a comeback win against Brisbane.

They were expected to do it much easier than they did starting $1.30 favourites. The Dogs first half performance today has ensured they remain unchanged in premiership betting.

Manly ($5.50 into $3.75) are the big movers this week after a dominant display against Souths. Manly were $7 before they beat North Queensland and have now emerged as the team to beat with the Bulldogs.

One punter stood to win $348,021 if Brisbane won; it was the last leg of a multi ($900 @ $386.69).

Brisbane were $1.30 leading 14-0; Bulldogs $3.30.
