MANLY PLAYER RATINGS FOR SUNDAY NIGHT'S NRL GRAND FINAL AT ANZ STADIUM:

Fullback: Brett Stewart - Vital hand in Manly's first try and his clean-up work kept the Sea Eagles' heads above water - Rating: 7

Winger: Jorge Taufua - Scored the opener to the grand final, his 20th try of the season, and his charges were typically strong - Rating 7

Centre: Jamie Lyon - Well contained by Michael Jennings and didn't find the space he's exploited all year, despite getting over for the penalty try - Rating 6

Centre: Steve Matai - Scored a try which looked like it would get Manly home and his defence was bruising. One tough hombre - Rating 8

Winger: David Williams - The Wolfman had a howler. Failed to get off the ground when Daniel Tupou took a spekky off him in the first half and had numerous errors in his game - Rating 2

Five-eighth: Kieran Foran - Put a bone-rattling hit on Sonny Bill Williams in the opening 10 minutes, which led directly to Manly's first try. But lacked a bit of polish - Rating 5

Halfback: Daly Cherry-Evans - Outstanding performance. Just the third player in grand final history to win the Clive Churchill Medal from the losing team - Rating 9

Prop: Brenton Lawrence - Crushed Tupou in defence early in the match and turned up all game - Rating 6

Hooker: Matt Ballin - Another tireless performance from one of the best hookers in the game - Rating 6

Prop: Brent Kite - Had 75 metres at halftime. And behind Sonny Bill Williams, the most for the game. Great farewell from one of Manly's greatest servants - Rating 7

Second-row: Anthony Watmough - Was everywhere with and without the ball. And this is for a man who's been injured for the past two months - Rating 7

Second-row: Justin Horo - Couldn't match Sonny Bill Williams, but solid performance from a solid player - Rating 5

Lock: Glenn Stewart - Was stunned so badly from the opening tackle that he fell over backwards as he tried to stagger back. Tough and inspirational - Rating 7

Interchange: David Gower - Barely saw any action - Rating 2

Jamie Buhrer - Great competitor, tried hard - Rating 5

Tom Symonds - Couldn't produce anything out of the box against his old side - Rating 4

George Rose - Came up with an amazing try-saver but it was to no avail. Farewell to one of Manly's most likeable players - Rating 5
