Manly Sea Eagles

Brett Stewart

Position: Fullback

Age: 28

Weight: 92kg

Height: 184cm

Premierships: 2

Stewart's impact on last week's preliminary final can't be understated. If injuries hadn't held him back so much over the years, would the Manly No.1 be considered the best fullback in the NRL? Try-saving and try-scoring ability is almost second to none.

Jorge Taufua

Position: Wing

Age: 21

Weight: 102kg

Height: 184cm

Premierships: 0

Power winger who has scored a mountain of tries this year. Rep player of the future.

Jamie Lyon (capt)

Position: Centre

Age: 31

Weight: 93kg

Height: 182cm

Premierships: 2

The best centre in the game continues to make NSW wish he was willing to play Origin football. The inspirational skipper is a class act in every department and is the key element in Manly's match-winning right-side attack.

Steve Matai

Position: Centre

Age: 29

Weight: 94kg

Height: 182cm

Premierships: 2

The Sea Eagles' bruise brother who has scared opponents and inspired teammates for nearly a decade. Outstanding defender and can lift a side with his aggression.

David Williams

Position: Wing

Age: 27

Weight: 95kg

Height: 184cm

Premierships: 1

The Wolfman has howled again in 2013, finishing as a joint top try scorer. His finish in the corner last week against Souths was a screamer, and on the end of Manly's right-side attack.

Kieran Foran

Position: Five-eighth

Age: 23

Weight: 89kg

Height: 180cm

Premierships: 1

A player with the tenacity of Foran doesn't need extra motivation, but he'll be acutely aware he's in the ring with schoolmate Mitchell Pearce. One of the best running five-eighths in the game and the perfect foil for halfback Cherry-Evans.

Daly Cherry-Evans

Position: Halfback

Age: 24

Weight: 84kg

Height: 180cm

Premierships: 1

Immortal Andrew Johns believes Cherry-Evans is putting real pressure on Cooper Cronk for his Kangaroos World Cup jersey, and it's hard to argue. His game has gone to another level this year and with Brett Stewart sniffing around, he'll be even more dangerous.

Brenton Lawrence

Position: Prop

Age: 28

Weight: 106kg

Height: 187cm

Premierships: 0

Holds claim to being the buy of the season. Unheralded during his two seasons at the Gold Coast, Lawrence has enjoyed his breakout NRL season as a 28-year-old. His numbers have been excellent at prop.

Matt Ballin

Position: Hooker

Age: 29

Weight: 88kg

Height: 179cm

Premierships: 2

There's Smith, Farah and Luke out there, but you get the feeling Manly wouldn't trade Matt Ballin for any of them. The tireless No.9 is more than a tackling machine - his kicking game and cool head is crucial.

Brent Kite

Position: Prop

Age: 32

Weight: 109kg

Height: 193cm

Premierships: 2

Kite can be credited as a catalyst for helping Manly turn their fortunes around way back in 2005. Signed from St George Illawarra, Kite added steel and respectability to the Sea Eagles pack. The Clive Churchill winner back in 2008, expect another big showing in Kite's club farewell before heading to Penrith.

Anthony Watmough

Position: Second row

Age: 30

Weight: 95kg

Height: 181cm

Premierships: 2

The reformed bad boy has been nursing niggling injuries for the back-end of the year but continues to play above himself - as he has for his entire career. Fast, tough and reliable - the leader of the Manly pack.

Justin Horo

Position: Second row

Age: 27

Weight: 102kg

Height: 190cm

Premierships: 0

Another smart signing by coach Geoff Toovey. Horo has built on early promise shown at former club Parramatta to be a dangerous option for Manly on the left.

Glenn Stewart

Position: Lock

Age: 29

Weight: 103kg Height: 180cm

Premierships: 2

Tough in defence and so skillful with the football, he's like a second five-eighth. A vital cog in the right-side attack and when going to the line he's aware his brother will never be far from his hip.

David Gower

Position: Prop

Age: 28

Weight: 105kg

Height: 190cm

Premierships: 0

Short on NRL experience, but journeyman Gower has been around a long while. As the favourite man to replace the injured Richie Fa'aoso, a GF cap would be reward for persistence.

INTERCHANGE

Jamie Buhrer

Position: Second row

Age: 23

Weight: 94kg

Height: 180cm

Premierships: 1

Every premiership team needs a player like Buhrer. Doesn't mind getting his hands dirty and will do whatever asked of him by his coach.

Tom Symonds

Position: Second row

Age: 24

Weight: 102kg

Height: 189cm

Premierships: 0

Manly lost T-Rex but gained "T-Red". The ginger-haired back-rower provides impact off the bench and will be primed for a grand final meeting with the club that let him go - the Roosters.

George Rose

Position: Prop

Age: 30

Weight: 116kg

Height: 188cm

Premierships: 1

It's only right that the biggest personality and the biggest belly in the Manly team is saying goodbye on the biggest stage. Rose leaves for Melbourne in career-best form and cult status aside - he's a genuine weapon off the bench.

James Hasson

Position: Second row

Age: 21

Weight: 105kg

Height: 191cm

Premierships: 0

Also in-line to replace Fa'aoso, Hasson has tasted NRL football this year and the likes of Glenn Stewart, Watmough and Kite won't let him feel overwhelmed.

Peta Hiku

Position: Fullback

Age: 20

Weight: 94kg

Height: 181cm

Premierships: 0

On standby for any mishaps in the backline before kick-off, Hiku won't disappoint if called up. The youngster was close to Manly's best player in the opening two weeks of the finals in Brett Stewart's absence. Safe as houses.
