SYDNEY, July 4 AAP - Parramatta forward Darcy Lussick comes up against his former side Manly for the first time on Monday, but the full on banter has already begun with good mate and Sea Eagles cult hero George Rose.

The two men will clash at Brookvale Oval, where Manly will look to cling onto a top four spot and and bottom-of-the-table Parramatta will hope to snap a five-match losing streak.

Rose crossed for his first try of the year in last Monday's loss to the Roosters and earned congratulations and a light-hearted warning from Lussick.

'Nice try tonight. I will score a similar one next Monday when I sidestep you," Lussick tweeted.

Rose responded "Have u ever sidestepped? I tell ya what, 10 in the bin will be worth bungin one on next Monday if u even think of scoring!"

Lussick replied "I'd love to coat hanger you early on but I don't want to get on the wrong side of (referee) @shanebarney."

Rose tweeted he would bully Lussick and called him a westie grub.

For all the feisty banter, Lussick said he didn't expect to be targeted verbally or physically by the popular Manly prop.

"Not with George, he's too nice to hurt anyone," Lussick told AAP.

"He'll talk it up. Let's hope he keeps up his pants up this week.

"One thing about George is he's never short of any banter, that's why everyone loves him."

Lussick insisted the vibe around Parramatta was good despite their lack of success this season.

"I've really been enjoying my time over here, everyone is pretty upbeat, and positive at the moment," Lussick said.

He felt execution rather than effort was the key to turning around the club's ailing fortunes.

"Our effort is there, its just execution at times lets us down, a few individual mistakes," Lussick said.

"If we try and address that, then hopefully we'll get a few wins."
