London Broncos Rugby League Foundation have been awarded over &;30,000 to deliver grass roots rugby league and dance activity across the region.

The rugby league development arm of the charity will deliver rugby league activity to 14-25 year olds in South West London and Surrey.

Andy Fairhurst, London Broncos Rugby League Development Manager commented: "We successfully bid for this funding in response to significant demand in the areas we work in.

"This funding will help us grow the sport of rugby league in the south whilst working with our education and community club partners."

The Sportivate funding has so far seen Woking College and Strodes College establish rugby league teams and enter RFL competitions, allowed the Foundation to deliver Year 10 and 11 girls' sessions and support new adult teams for both men and women at the Guildford Giants community club.

The dance academy can now extend its grassroots delivery into Surrey offering dance and exercise classes to young adults and young mums in the region.

Amy Howard, Dance Officer for the academy said: "It's been really successful in the Richmond borough and now it's great to be branching out into Surrey too.

"We will deliver these sessions alongside our existing dance classes which offer fun and affordable dance classes to the local community."
