CARDIFF, Oct 23 AAP - Johnathan Thurston has spoken out about the robbery suffered by Kangaroos teammate Josh Papalii saying players are now sticking together when walking the streets in the UK.

Papalii was robbed in Manchester last week after a number of members of the 24-man squad visited a nightclub after their arrival from Australia.

Thurston says there's no doubt the team learnt some lessons as a result.

"We've learnt from that making sure that we stick together as a unit and, if there's a few boys, making sure that they're together when they are walking around through the streets," the 30-year-old told AAP.

"We've been over here for a week-and-a-half now and the boys have had a bit of fun away from the training paddock but certainly when we've had to train or we've had team meetings the boys have been focused."
