Australian Rugby League today mourned the passing of former Balmain, NSW and Kangaroos forward Tom Tyrrell, aged 80.

Australian Rugby League today mourned the passing of former Balmain, NSW and Kangaroos forward Tom Tyrrell, aged 80.

Tyrrell, a local junior at Balmain who established himself in first grade in 1950, played for NSW in 1951-52.

Tyrrell debuted for Australia against New Zealand in 1952 and was a member of the 1952-53 Kangaroo tour to England, playing six tests.

The ARL would like to extend its condolences to the Tyrrell family during this difficult time.

St Anne, South Strathfield, 9.30am
Burial: Macquarie Park @ North Ryde, 11.30am
