SYDNEY, Aug 22 AAP - Out-of-favour Canterbury halfback Kris Keating has likely played his last game for the NRL club after signing a three-year contract with English Super League club Hull KR.

Keating was a solid performer in the Bulldogs' charge to last year's grand final, but hasn't played since round five in April this season, with coach Des Hasler preferring Trent Hodkinson in the No.7 jersey.

The 24-year-old Keating will join St George-Illawarra prop Michael Weyman and Newcastle forward Neville Costigan at the Robins next season.

He will replace former Canberra halfback Michael Dobson, who will return to Australia with the Knights in 2014.

Keating is likely to pair in the halves at Hull KR with feisty ex-Penrith five-eighth Travis Burns.

"I felt like I needed a new challenge because it was getting a bit stale here," Keating told BBC Radio Humberside.

"It's a big change but it's a really good quality league over in England. It was an opportunity that I couldn't refuse."

Keating has made 47 appearances for the Bulldogs since 2011 after three years at Parramatta.
