Gold Coast have named captain Scott Prince and State of Origin trio Nate Myles, Ashley Harrison and Greg Bird to return for Sunday's Round 15 clash with Penrith at Skilled Park.

The inclusion of the experienced quartet in an extended 19-man squad will see the Jetstar Titans return to near full-strength against the Panthers, with prop Luke Bailey the club's only major omission as he continues his recovery from a rib injury.

The club is hoping the Origin trio will be fit to back-up after Wednesday night's Origin 2 in Sydney, with three days recovery in the build-up to the Panthers clash.

Prince was a late withdrawal from last Sunday's 22-12 loss to Cronulla after suffering tightness in his lower back at the side's final training session on Saturday but Jetstar Titans Coach John Cartwright said he expected him to be fit to take on the Panthers.

"He should be ok. He was close to playing on the weekend and with a week of treatment, I'd expect that he'd be okay,'' said Cartwright.

"He won't get on the field until Thursday but that's just trying to give him treatment and keep him off his legs until Thursday.''

The loss of Prince forced William Zillman into the halves and utility Jamie Dowling into fullback against the Sharks and Cartwright said the lack of preparation without their chief playmaker made it hard for his side.

"It wasn't so much the fact that he wasn't there, it was the fact that we went into the game without a training session,'' he said.

"If we had've known earlier in the week, we could have had a week with either Jordan at halfback or Jamie at fullback, whichever way we decided to go.

"But the fact was we had our last training session with Princey there and we fronted up to the game and he failed his fitness test.

"So it wasn't so much the fact that we missed Scotty Prince so much, it was the fact that we went in with no preparation with the side that took the field.''

Cartwright said he was impressed with his side's defensive effort against the Sharks after getting through 50 more tackles than their opponents.
