Wales international Elliot Kear has agreed a new one-year contract extension with the Bradford Bulls.

The 24-year-old winger has been a stand-out performer during the World Cup and his new deal will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2015 season.

Bulls head coach Francis Cummins says an extra 12 months at The Provident Stadium is just reward following an impressive campaign for both club and country.

"Elliot has done fantastically well this year and is continuing to improve," said Cummins.

"His performances in the World Cup have been most impressive and I expected as much after such a good season in Super League for him.

"We see him as a threat out wide, he has alarming pace and an eye for the line.

"We felt is was important to secure his services for another year, but the extended deal is really a reward for Elliot.

"He will again play a key role for us next year and I expect he will only get better, given the competition for places in three-quarters."

Kear, who can also play full-back, initially joined the Bulls on a three-year deal from Crusaders ahead of the 2012 season.

And he has spoken of his delight at gaining added security ahead of 2014.

Kear said: "I am over the moon with the extension as it gives me a bit more security. I love the Bulls and it was a dream for me when I first came here.

“I am settled here now and am really enjoying myself, so I’m delighted to sign for another year.

“My main aim this coming season will be to stay injury-free, play every game again and match the form I showed this year."
