LONGREACH, Qld, June 10 AAP - Injured Queensland stars Greg Inglis, Billy Slater and Daly Cherry-Evans will be given all the time they need to prove their fitness before State of Origin II.

The trio all stayed at the Maroons' Gold Coast base on Tuesday as 11 players headed to Longreach in Queensland's outback for a fan day.

Inglis' sprained ankle is believed to be the cause of the most concern after he suffered the injury in South Sydney's win over the Warriors on Saturday.

But fullback Slater (shoulder) and halfback Cherry-Evans (knee) are also in doubt, forcing Queensland selectors to name a 22-man squad on Monday.

Maroons coach Mal Meninga says he'll give the three players every opportunity to take part in the must-win game over NSW on June 18.

"We're just going to go through the week and see how it all pans out," Meninga said.

"We've got no definite plans around when they're going to be available, when they're going to train.

"We'll just see how it all works."

The squad will fully assemble later on Tuesday evening following the return of the playing contingent which travelled to Longreach and the arrival of those who turned out in Monday night's NRL match between Brisbane and Canberra, including potential debutants Anthony Milford and Ben Hunt.

One player who isn't heading north is Josh Papalii, who injured an ankle late in the match in Canberra and was immediately ruled out of Origin II.

The impact bench player's absence may boost the chance of Warriors forward Jacob Lillyman making a return to Origin for the first time since 2011 or could allow Hunt to debut off the bench as a utility option.

"All the players are playing first grade," Meninga said.

"Playing really well at their individual clubs. There's a bit of turmoil at the moment in regards to the quandaries over injuries but rest assured by the end of the week, we'll be fine."
